The company was originally founded by James Wilbur Jones, whose family and friends referred to as “Papa Bear” - hence the name. James was a talented man and wanted to produce rinds better than what you could find in the store and have the rind that even his friends without teeth could enjoy! (For the rest of us, we can enjoy that’s flavorful crunch!)
Although James is no longer with us, his grandson has continued his tradition after growing up seeing the joy his cooking and pork rinds brought his community. Jones is most excited about meeting and networking with the new talented people appearing in the revival of the Memphis food scene. He enjoys eating local and supporting his fellow food entrepreneurs.
